Amelia's Call of the Wild!

The Services (Recreation) Department is sponsoring a 2-week winter fun time. The kick-off was today at the ski area on base. They had special ski and snowboard specials going on as well as free dog sled rides. We took Amelia out this morning to watch and found out we had to get on "the list" so we went back out this afternoon for our ride. She had a great time. There was a slight moment of trepidation when we think she thought she was going by herself. Michael said that she started squealing as soon as he peeled her off of his neck and turned her around in his lap. She was sad when her turn ended but she really enjoyed it!

Ben's Room

We're still toying with some other air plane decor but for now this is Ben's room. It's small and cozy but will be big enough for our little guy!

Preggo Belly

Here I am on February 16, 2009. 11 days before my scheduled c-section. We'll see if I make it that long.

An update...finally!

We have made it through half of an Alaskan winter. We've endured several weeks of below zero temperatures as well as the weather phenomenon known as the Chinook winds. I never thought I'd see rain instantly turn to ice when it hit the ground!

Amelia is just loving life and having fun. Since mommy has to go to the hospital for appointments at least twice a week she has been spending a lot of time in the hospital's YMCA program known as Teddy Watch. She seems to really enjoy the time to play with other kids and not be stuck with mommy all day long! She also seems to finally understand that her baby brother is in mommy's baby. She likes to "tickle" him, listen to his heartbeat (with spoons from her play kitchen), and give him kisses. It's pretty cute.

Here are some recent pictures of her playing in the snow. We spent some time in the front yard playing in the snow while daddy shoveled the driveway. The big snow plow working in the street helped daddy out a little with the driveway but it still took him about two hours to clear the several inches of snow we'd gotten over the last few days.
