Welcome to the Halbrook Family Blog!
Since we have taken the grandbaby 3,500 miles away from all of our family, I thought I would try to maintain a blog to keep our family updated on our life in Alaska. I'll add lots of pictures and hopefully some videos as well.
We are still hanging out in temporary housing but are set to move into our new place next week. We can hardly wait for that! Amelia will have all her toys again and we'll be able to sleep in our own beds for the first time in 2 1/2 months! Michael started work last Friday and is getting back into the swing of things there. He's basically "in charge" of the radar group right now so he's having fun making sure their schedules are covered since they are short-handed right now. He's going to pull a 12-hour shift today to fill in the gap because someone is sick. They should be back up to full staff in a couple of weeks.
Amelia and Megan are still just keeping up with Sesame Street and just taking it easy. It's hard to find a lot to do in a 500 or less square feet of space! We go on walks and go to playgrounds when the weather permits.
