We had a wonderful quiet Christmas Day in Alaska. It was cold (of course) and started snowing during our late breakfast and continued until the next morning so Michael had plenty of snow to shovel on the 26th! Amelia finally understands what "present" means and she had lots of fun opening hers and is still enjoying the new toys. Santa brought her a tent (with a tunnel) and a tricycle this year. Hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas as well.

Baking Christmas Cookies!
Amelia got some new baking toys from Aunt Elaine and Uncle Dean to go with her play kitchen. Mommy decided she needed to help with the Christmas cookies this year so she got her own ball of dough and later some icing to finish off her special cookies. Amelia had a great time and was disappointed when it was all done.

Welcome Back to Alaska!
These were the views from our front door on Monday morning. That moose had been outside our back fence and then moved on and was nibbling on the trees right next to the front door of Miss Karen's (our occasional babysitter) house. Of course, by the time I grabbed the camera the moose was moving off. Michael had fun cleaning all that snow off his car. There was probably 8 to 12 inches of snow on the ground as well!

Playing in the Snow!
Amelia got her first taste of playing in the snow this week. Mommy had a doctor's appointment one morning so her friend Andrea came to babysit for a little while. When mommy got home they were bundling up and almost out the door so she threw on her heavy coat and boots and grabbed the camera for some cardboard box sledding in our backyard. Amelia enjoyed it but wasn't upset when we came inside about 20 minutes later. The temperature was probably in the upper teens that morning.

Happy Birthday Amelia!
Amelia had a blast at her birthday party. She had 5 little friends come over. Brianna and Nate are from church as is little Emily. Our neighbors Emily and Savannah also came to play as well. Momma made Elmo cupcakes and the red icing was a big hit. Thank goodness for bibs! Amelia got lots of pretty clothes and some new books and toys.
